Do you love to DANCE?

There are so many physical and psychological benefits of dance.

Physically the body moves in three planes of motion (sagittal, frontal, and transverse) and dance incorporates movements on all of these planes and from all directions.

Psychologically dance enhances mood, boosts memory and cognitive performance, and improves orientation, coordination, and concentration, challenging the brain to focus on the constant changing and remembering of patterns.

Movements that we generally do in our daily lives, like walking and climbing the stairs, or common workouts like running or cycling, occur in one plane (sagittal).

Dance works your body from all planes, including lateral and rotational movement, therefore not only does dance help to improve cardio and respiratory health, but it also helps improve strength, balance, and flexibility by using all muscles.

Dance improves emotional and mental health reducing stress, decreasing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, and boosting self-esteem.

One of the greatest things about dance is that it is inclusive. Anyone can take part and the physical and psychological benefits can be experienced by anyone. It can be enjoyed as a group activity and dancing with others is so good for social and emotional well-being.
